★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1In 2021, Mr. Samuel G. Hayward, Sr., was helping me with a developing defamation case, but due to health reasons had to discontinue and withdraw. At our initial consultation meeting, he had spent over an hour thoroughly evaluating my case in his office, and then we signed a proper contract that day. After it became known he could not continue, he then refunded my full $2500 retainer fee, gave me my entire file promptly, including his notes and summary thus far, sent me an excellent letter of endorsement as a client to give to other prospective attorneys, and we remained on good terms. Does anyone realize how rare that is to find anymore? He was an extraordinary man, an attorney with a strong sense of integrity, held onto good old fashioned values, and a exuded a sharp intellect. He honed in on the exact legal issue I had adeptly, which was complicated, and summed it all up beautifully in a short, plain statement. The gentleman was a top notch attorney in my book, and I've consulted with dozens over the past 2 years. America needs more attorneys like Mr. Hayward. I am saddened to learn of his passing and send deepest sympathies to his family and firm.
May 23 · Shannon ReeseI was a client of Samuel Hayward Sr. Paid my retainer fee, told I had a strong case for FMLA/Worker Discrimination. (Breast Cancer, Was on FMLA when my company said "come back to work or lose health care".) I told Sam Sr. and he said "you've got a case. ADA prohibits this behavior". Paid my $2500 retainer fee, and "Silence". I continued on with my cancer treatments, and the next year heard from "Chip". I met with him, he gave me several copies of interrogetories he was to serve with my former employer, and again "Silence". I call the office, speak with his secretary who assures me he is working on it. "Silence" Months go by, I finish cancer treatments, and I hear we will have a Deposition. I go to the office, and we do the deposition. I think, "maybe I've been a bit harsh in thinking they pulled one over on me." After the deposition...."silence" I am pretty much resolved that my $2500 went towards "bogus" representation and a "bogus" deposition. Please, if you have a serious worker dispute, look somewhere else, unless you have an extra $2500 laying around. My retainer fee money happened to come out of my "Cancer money" I had from my past employers Critical Care benefit I had signed up for. (At least I had that.) It's sad that I feel used and unlawfully let go of my former job because of cancer, and then turn around and the lawyer I chose to represent me do nothing but send me "bogus" Interrogatories and tell me lies. (stated, "all cases are backed up because of Covid".) God doesn't smile on "cheaters" or "liars".My advice: Look elsewhere for Professional Representation.
July 21 · Doris CorcoranSam tells u what u want to hear and does not do what he says. I have been. Client for over a year and a half and he does not follow thru on what he says he is going to do. Most of the time he will not call back and when he does he gives me a song and dance. Sam is a great guy, but a terrible lawyer in my opinion, he should be selling used cars instead of a lawyer ( again, this is my opinion). I am so frustrated with this man it is unbelievable. Just one lie after another, tells me he is going to file something and does not. Last time we meet he said he had some type of brain fog since the beginning of the year and does not remember anything he said or did during that time period due to the brain fog he had. I would not recommend using him for ANYTHING AT ALL.
September 13 · Bob PersingerTerrible service. I had a multi-million dollar lawsuit on the table and the people at this office have been stringing me along for almost two months. They're not even courteous enough to give me a quick phone call, return my calls, or send me an email. This is just an absolute garbage business. Everyone has their own experiences, but if others are treated the way I have been, bypass this firm; they do not respect clients or deserve our business.
October 07 · matt watsonOnce this man got my money, he stopped responding to texts and calls and his office wouldn’t even pick up when I called.
