When choosing an attorney, client reviews can be the most valuable source of information, offering a direct glimpse into the client experience. The reviews for Zipko Law LLC present a mixed picture that prospective clients in Minnesota should carefully consider. A positive review from a returning client praises the attorney, Chris, as "an excellent lawyer" who is "always professional to the point" and "well known in this field as a upstanding lawyer." This testimonial suggests a strong track record and a positive reputation within the legal community, with the client expressing gratitude for representation in their family's needs. This is a powerful endorsement that speaks to the firm's ability to achieve results and build long-term relationships with clients.
However, a second, highly critical review provides a starkly different perspective. This client details a series of issues, including an "extremely ineffective" communication style with weeks of unresponsiveness, missed appointments, and a lack of clear explanation of legal proceedings and potential outcomes. The client alleges that the attorney, Mr. Zipko, "stirred up a lot of fear" to secure a retainer and gave a "clear lie" as an excuse for a missed meeting. The most serious complaint is the claim that the attorney "didn't mention the year revocation or ignition interlock" for a DWI case, misinforming the client and leading to a "truly unbelievable" outcome. The client concludes by stating they felt "more taken advantage of than protected by his services," comparing the experience to that of a "used car salesman." This review raises significant concerns about communication, transparency, and client care. For anyone in Minnesota seeking legal representation, this information is critical. While the positive review points to a professional who can deliver results for some, the negative review highlights potential risks for others, particularly concerning communication and forthrightness about case outcomes. The best approach for a potential client is to be aware of these contrasting viewpoints and to use a consultation to ask very direct questions about communication practices, fee structures, and the potential outcomes of their case. This due diligence can help a client determine if the firm's approach is the right fit for their legal needs and comfort level.

Zipko Law LLC Reviews
Chris is an excellent lawyer...We have used Chris many times and he is always professional to the point and can pursue the arguments needed to close the case. Chris is well known in this field as a upstanding lawyer. Our family is grateful to Chris, in representing us in all our family’s needs
January 18 · Debra BohachComplaint:Mr.Zipko was extremely ineffective at communicating. There were whole stretches of weeks where I couldn't reach him through either phone or email and his voicemail was full. When we first met he stirred up a lot of fear in me about potentially going to jail if I didn't hire him, which is what led me to make that very expensive decision. When I got upset about it, he backpedaled and told me what I wanted to hear so I would calm down. We had a set time to meet on one occasion that he failed to show up for because he forgot about it and then made an excuse that was a clear lie. When I expressed concerns of any kind to him, he wouldn't respond. He talked in circles and appeared to be on something every single time I saw him. He didn't explain anything that was going on throughout the process unless I asked specific questions. At my court date in October he told me what the prosecutor was offering without explaining it and when I would ask more in-depth questions it appeared to bother him. When I called him to follow up on those questions throughout the next couple of weeks it was nearly impossible to get ahold of him. It became clear that I was just more money in his pocket regardless of what happened in my case. The day before my last court date he told me that he was "certain" we would be moving it to another day because he was going to be pulled into trial. At 11pm that night he texted me to tell me I still needed to appear the following morning, after I had agreed to go into work because he had confirmed that morning that we would be rescheduling the court appearance. When we appeared before the judge I didn't know what was going on because he still hadn't really explained it to me; he went more in-depth once we were actually in front of the judge but that only added to my confusion. I've only appeared in court one other time for and have very little idea of how it all works, a fact that he was aware of. I had to ask specific questions as to what my sentence would be because once again he was extremely unclear and talking in circles. I asked him if my license would be taken away and he said "yeah, for two weeks or something like that." I got a letter this past weekend saying that it will be revoked for a year unless I get the ignition interlock system. Mr.Zipko is almost twice as expensive as many DWI lawyers in this state and I hired him in good faith but was let down at every turn. Missing meetings and failing to stay in contact is bad enough, but the fact that he didn't mention the year revocation or ignition interlock is truly unbelievable. He told me what I wanted to hear instead of the truth, like a used care salesman. I was kept in the dark throughout the whole process despite my best efforts to understand it and I feel more taken advantage of than protected by his services.
