My boyfriend and I were looking for someone to review the current will that had been prepared for him by another attorney, Miss O'Meara answered the phone right away when we called, I had a great conversation with her and we set up our first appointment which went very well. My boyfriend and I both walked away from it feeling like she was very knowledgeable and we were very positive. The second meeting we sat down and discussed exactly what we wanted, she took a lot of notes and said it would take about a week, my boyfriend offered to give her 2 weeks so that she wasn't feeling rushed and she could take her time. She also informed us at that time that she needed half the fee down (700 total) and just because that's how my boyfriend is, he went ahead and paid the fee in full. We set up the final appointment to receive the will and I left her know at that time that my sister and his sister were both going to be present when the will was gone over and he signed it (surprises later on by either side of the family are never a good thing so that's just how we wanted to do it and some of the family had to travel a considerable distance, she knew this at the time the final meeting was set up). Well the final meeting date approached, the family traveled that considerable distance, and everyone was about 10 minutes early, we waited for an hour, calling, texting, and emailing repeatedly and no response. Finally we left, our family headed back home, and an hour and forty five minutes later I got an email stating that she had had a flat tire and she was very sorry that she had missed our appointment, could we reschedule? We tried to reschedule and long story short... That was the last we heard from her. Multiple calls, emails... Ignored. After 3 weeks I went to the local magistrate and filed Court proceedings to get our money back. The hearing was scheduled for about a month out, and 2 days before she waited in her car on our street and watched our house till my boyfriend got home, put an envelope on our doorstep and left without so much as ringing the bell. It was a cashier's check for the full amount plus court fees. There was also a note asking me to let her know if we were still planning on attending the hearing, I told him to take it right to the bank and deposit it, which he did, and I never replied. She at that point proceeded to email and text repeatedly asking if we were intending on going to the hearing . I did not respond to her respond to her because I did not feel at that point as though I needed to after being ignored by her for months. I don't know what's going on in her life, but whatever it is that's causing her to take people's money and run I feel it's only fair to warn people. This literally happened a month ago and I was very hesitant to post this, I don't feel like she's a crook I feel like there may be some personal stuff going on, but either way, all she had to do was return our calls or our emails and we could have worked around whatever she had going on. She didn't have to take our money and run, forcing us to have to take her to court to get our money back. She did seem very knowledgeable and even having to leave this post I can't say that I didn't like the woman, put my advice would be to get whatever it is you're trying to get from her BEFORE PAYING HER. 😞

Anita O’Meara was extremely helpful in when I had a landlord attempt to evict me and cancel my lease because they were renting the property without HOA approval. Anita wrote up the terms for the settlement and the landlord agreed to purchase our lease from us for half the amount she would have paid in HOA fines. All moving costs were covered as well. I couldn’t have expected such a great outcome. I would recommend this firm to family and friends.
