★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1We had a trust set up thru Eric Barnes. The initial contact went well but I am far from impressed with the customer service they have provided after. I have left multiple messages, voice mail and with Eric's assistant to make a change to the trust. 4 weeks now since my initial request and no follow up. I've been able to get a live person on the phone one time. All other calls go to voicemail with no return. Looks like it's time to take my business elsewhere as Eric and his team seem to be only interested in the initial financial gain.Update. Eric personally reached out to me over this issue. Seemed very genuine with his apology and concern. Took us a bit to get the issue resolved at no fault to Eric. Thank you for handling our changes in a timely matter. We appreciate you taking care of us.
July 25 · Shawn DilleUpdate: I may have jumped into my own feelings a little bit during a time when my only living parent was my only concern and I was taking care of her to the best of my abilities. I almost want to believe now that she’s passed away that they were looking out for the best of my intentions that I didn’t see so making my aunt power of attorney was a blessing in disguise. (That was one of the greatest reliefs off of my shoulders.) I do believe that the law firm could’ve at least explained that to me instead of me gliding through life feeling like my family was being ripped apart? I may have underestimated the law firm. There’s a saying I live by that’s helped me in life. Life/things may not make sense right now but eventually they will. I feel like I never really gave them a chance and to everyone that works for the company God bless you for representing my mom. May you all stay safe and be blessed with good intentions!
July 23 · Melanie CI'm the legally appointed personal representative of my dear mother's estate. RIP Mom. I called this firm in 2019 for elder help. I suspected neglect and abuse of an elder, my dear mother, at Legacy House of Logan. My mother, sick with Alzheimer's, had been improperly taken there by her estranged offspring. No one in Utah believed me when I told them what had happened and that my mother was under the care of estranged-for-decades, disinherited-by-name offspring. I was still in communications with this firm when I was advised my mother died, in December 2019. This firm asked me if I was kidding when I told them she'd died. Rude. In 2020 I retained a local law firm and opened probate at First District Court. I subpoenaed records from the facility which reflect exactly my suspicions: isolation, abuse and neglect, in their records. I also have a Logan City police report reflecting the staff at the facility dissuaded LEO from making contact with my mother under my valid welfare check which contributed to her suffering. After her death, during probate, an already retired judge ignored rule of law and gave all my mother's estate funds to those who were disinherited-by-name. I was sole heir in my mother's legally prepared, uncontested will. I fought back under Reconsideration and took back what was improperly given away; but my mother was victimized in Logan, and her legacy was dishonored and disrespected. My mother suffered and died in Utah, where she'd never lived. Then, I was subjected to an incompetent, conniving legal community that protects only their own ilk. Signed, Chrystina Bird, Loving Daughter & P.R., Estate of J.G. Pratt
August 11 · CTBRun away!! ZERO Stars!! This firm added language in trust as to conceal documents, finances, and his billing of family, then represented both trust AND THEN trustees too, (conflict of interest??). After threats to disinherit several family members who filed suit over this lack of transparency, we had to drag them to mediation just to put this thing to bed, or go to trial...otherwise we would likely still be paying this firm month after month still, thousands and thousands of dollars.End result? VERY costly & split up a family. He will claim our parents and HIS trustees represented were happy with him. Yet he did NOT represent the 5 family who hired opposing counsel to resolve, (thanks to Bruce Stratford Law Firm), nor did he represent 8 of 11 family. My parents would not have approved of the threats, secretive handling, nor the family destruction caused by the handling of the trust.
June 21 · Kelly ZauggEric Barnes and the entire staff at The ElderCare Law Firm are very professional, thorough, and friendly.
