What is worth choosing Spencer Walsh Law, PLLC? The decision to hire a lawyer is a significant one, and it is important to consider all facets of a firm's reputation. Reviews for Spencer Walsh Law, PLLC highlight two very different client experiences, which can help potential clients make an informed decision.
One highly positive review praises Tracey and her team for being not only professional but also for "deeply caring about what's best for your child and your family." The client highlights the team's ability to guide them through the "difficult journey of navigating the special education system" and their proactive approach in anticipating concerns. This review also notes that the firm has a "deepest bench of lawyers who had public experiences directly related to my cases," which is a significant asset. The client also found the cost structure to be "very reasonable" and the team willing to work with them, ultimately leading to a strong recommendation to help a "special kiddo grow in the environment they deserve." This feedback paints a picture of a compassionate, effective, and results-oriented firm.
Conversely, another review details a very negative experience, focusing on a communication breakdown and a perceived lack of transparency. The client paid $600 for a short consultation and was later told the firm would not take their case. The client felt that the firm did not provide a clear reason for the non-engagement, despite multiple attempts to communicate. This review expresses frustration with the firm's communication style and the lack of explanation, leading the client to advise others to "Please avoid." This experience highlights the potential for miscommunication and the importance of clear expectations, especially regarding case evaluation and engagement fees.
When choosing Spencer Walsh Law, PLLC, it is crucial to weigh both perspectives. The firm has a clear track record of successfully advocating for children with special needs, and their clients have praised their expertise, compassion, and commitment to achieving the best outcomes. At the same time, it is vital to have an open conversation about communication protocols and the firm's process for evaluating a case to ensure that your expectations are met from the very beginning. By understanding both the firm's strengths in advocacy and the potential for communication challenges, you can make a more informed choice about whether they are the right legal partner for you.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1This was a very odd experience. I had a very cordial conversation with the paralegal discussing my daughter and whether they can help her get into a school better suited for her situation. I doubt her situation is any different from any other parent seeking an education lawyer. I paid 600 to have a consultation, again very cordial although probably 20 minutes. I then didn’t hear anything back for over a week so I emailed the paralegal and asked whether they would take my case. She told me she would get back to me and after a few more days I was told they will not take my case and good luck. I emailed asking for a reason explaining I would like to avoid spending 600 to other lawyers if I don’t have a winnable case, but she wouldn’t respond. I tried calling a few times but she uses her caller id to screen calls as i only reached her when I had my wife call. She told me I didn’t give a school my daughter was interested in so that’s why they couldn’t take the case. This was obviously a bs excuse, they simply could have asked me but I played along and gave her the name of the school she was interested in. She then told me I first needed to find out if this school had a availability and I emailed them today saying they did. I then got an email from Spencer with a notice of non-engagement and told they don’t disclose internal decisions. I have no issue not taking the case but for 600 dollars I think people are at least entitled to know why or at a minimum whether the case has merit but they just can’t take it. I don’t know any other field that can charge this type of money and behave like this. Please avoid .
February 20 · Bill MallinTracey and team are not just professional, but they deeply care about what's best for your child and your family. Throughout the difficult journey of navigating the special education system, the team has guided us through every step and anticipated all of our concerns. Tracey has the deepest bench of lawyers who had public experiences directly related to my cases. The cost structure is also very reasonable and they are willing to work with you. I'd highly recommend Tracey and team to help your special kiddo grow in the environment they deserve.

We cannot thank Tracey and her team enough for making sure our son was able to attend a high school where he could thrive and that prepared him rigorously for college. Thank you, again, Spencer Walsh team! We could not have been better represented.
August 08 · Sheila FosterPrior to meeting the team at Spencer Walsh Law, I was overwhelmed by the complex bureaucracy of the NYC Dept of Education. After my first conversation with Tracey, I knew I had found the right legal experts to support my son and his educational challenges due to Dravet Syndrome and ADHD. I highly recommend Spencer Walsh Law for many reasons - their exceptional legal counsel, their rapid responsiveness and their patient persistence. Moreover, the entire staff has a higher order level of kindness, compassion and empathy. Their support for families like ours and especially for our uniquely amazing kids is unrivaled.
