When choosing a law firm, it is vital to consider a wide range of information, including both the services offered and the experiences of past clients. Skipper Law, LLC has a broad range of experience, particularly in family law and mediation, and is prepared to handle a variety of civil disputes. The firm's background in municipal law and its use of alternative dispute resolution can be a significant benefit for clients seeking to resolve issues outside of a lengthy and costly trial.
However, it is important to be aware of the experiences shared by some past clients. A couple of reviews raise serious concerns regarding the firm's role as a guardian ad litem. These reviews allege that the attorney failed to act in the best interest of a child, ignored abuse disclosures, and did not adhere to a court order to submit written reports. The reviews also mention the attorney's withdrawal from the case and subsequent testimony that was reportedly against a minor client's interest. These are very serious allegations, and while they reflect only one aspect of the firm's practice, they are a critical part of the public record that prospective clients should be aware of.
This mix of information suggests that while Skipper Law, LLC has extensive legal experience and expertise in areas like mediation and family law, prospective clients should conduct their own thorough research and ask detailed questions about the firm's approach to their specific legal issue. As with any legal matter, a comprehensive initial consultation and a clear understanding of the attorney's past performance and current approach are essential before making a hiring decision.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1My experience with Guardian ad Litem Lani Skipper was devastating to my family. Despite a court order requiring her to submit written reports, she produced none. She ignored multiple abuse disclosures, not only from her own minor client (my daughter), but also from mental health professionals, DFCS, and law enforcement. Instead of protecting a vulnerable child, she shifted financial burdens onto me as the protective parent and later testified against my daughter after having already withdrawn from the case. Most troubling, she withdrew the very next day after being served as a defendant in my federal lawsuit, Edwards v. Bucci, et al., currently pending in the Northern District of Georgia. A guardian ad litem’s duty is to safeguard children’s best interests, yet her actions did the opposite. Families in Paulding County deserve accountability and protection, not neglect, retaliation, and harm. #JusticeForMilan
August 29 · Kym FavoredLani Skipper served as the Guardian ad Litem (GAL) in my custody case, and I cannot in good conscience recommend her. I do not believe she acted in the best interest of my daughter, which is a fundamental responsibility of a GAL. I deeply regret agreeing to her appointment in this role and wholeheartedly do not recommend her.
April 24 · Pamela CooperLani provides excellent advice, council, and execution of our in house attorney needs at the association where I am a board member. I work closely with Lani on a regular basis and appreciate her expertise as well as her ability to work across strong personalities with varying points of view to drive a solution. She can always be counted on as the voice of reason. I highly recommend Lani Skipper.
April 24 · S RussellLoni was the GAL for my case. At first everything was fine. Her paralegal at that time wrote up a wonderful report that was fair and honest and basically just explained who the father and I were as people there were no bias. There were no scathing words about either parent. Not too long after that report was turned in our court date was postponed several months in which time, that paralegal quit, which I was not informed of. I had been emailing her for months with my check-in’s. I was not told that she was no longer working for the attorney until one day a new paralegal reached out to me. She was rude, scathing, unkind, and cold towards my children. She lied and created stories about the previous paralegal and stated that she needed to do new home visits. After those home visits all of the sudden, I am a terrible parent. I keep a dirty home, mind you my home was on the market at the time that she viewed my house so the house was spotless and professionally cleaned to be prepared for people to view my home to buy it. She constantly canceled appointments last minute to make it seem like I was hard to get a hold of. In the end, I see my children six evenings a month if that. I’ve never even had a speeding ticket in my life. But because of the lies and manipulation of the GAL report i only see them max, six days a month, bc I’m not rich. After reaching out to several families that were assigned her as their GAL, I found that if you hire an attorney that she’s friends with, she will side with you, if you slide her a little extra cash, she will side with you. Also, she went to school with two of the well-known judges in Paulding County and she is friends with so they are biased to whomever she recommends. And usually like I said, she recommends whoever pays her more or whoever hire an attorney that she’s friends with. Avoid at all costs if you want a fair shake when it comes to a GAL.
March 12 · Tiffany SoukupLani Skipper was the Guardian Ad Litem on the custody case for our 3 children. She did an exceptional job of advocating for our kids during this very long and difficult process. She was kind, professional, and helpful to us, but made it clear her priority was always the children. Lani did a lot of investigation and many interviews to learn everything she could, before she determined what to recommend to the judge. We did not always agree with all the decisions and outcomes in our case. (Every parent wants to get their own way in these situations.) But we did feel Lani was fully informed and understood the situation clearly because of her investigative “legwork” on our case. And now that it is over and the dust has settled, we realize Lani’s unbiased and thoughtful handling of our case was truly in the best interest of our children. Also, her office staff was exceptionally helpful and provided great customer service anytime we had questions or needed guidance on the process. If Lani and her firm are assigned to your family’s case, you can rest assured she is a highly skilled and experienced GAL, and she is always looking out for your children’s best interest during a very difficult and emotional process. We can’t thank her enough for how she handled the case for our family!
