In considering what is worth choosing about Shimanovsky & Moscardini, LLP, potential clients should take into account the firm's broad scope of practice. For individuals who may have a variety of legal needs over time, a general practice firm like this could be a convenient option. However, the provided customer reviews present a significant point of consideration. The reviews, which are identical and highly critical, express deep dissatisfaction with the firm's advice and overall competence for anything beyond "basic traffic tickets." The client reports feeling that the advice given was "out of touch with practical realities of law" and that the firm was "quick to apologize for not being able to ever help." The reviews also raise a serious concern about being billed by a referral attorney for a free consultation. While this information is based on a limited number of reviews, it is a crucial element for anyone vetting a law firm. In the legal profession, trust and confidence are paramount. A prospective client in Illinois should use this information to inform their decision-making process. It is always recommended to have a clear, upfront discussion about legal fees, the specific nature of your case, and the attorney's experience in that particular area before signing any legal agreements. For those with complex or substantial legal matters, the reviews suggest that seeking a second opinion or a firm with a more specialized focus might be a more suitable path.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Unfortunately, my experience with Shimanovsky & Moscardini over the years has been disappointing. While they may listen with a deaf ear, they offer no advice. Although they may be competent for handling basic traffic tickets, I found them lacking in competence when it comes to more complex or everyday legal matters. Their advice often seemed out of touch with practical realities of law, (gee, thats too bad) and I did not feel confident in their ability to navigate anything besides dealing with a simple ticket, —but for anything more substantial, I would recommend looking elsewhere for knowledgeable legal counsel. They are quick to apologize for not being able to ever help. And don't be surprised if you get a bill from one of their random referral attorneys for a free consultation! (who are not even specialized in the practice of law they were referred to you for)!

July 11 · Barbara SchultzMy experience with Shimanovsky & Moscardini, LLP has been an amazing one. The attorney assigned to my case in July 2024 Mr. Jeffery Mashni was very professional, understanding and really supported me during one of the most life changing experiences in my life when I had to seek legal action against my former insurance company. The legal action took about 3 weeks to resolve which I won the settlement. I would recommend this firm.

March 22 · Kersha RobinsonI've completed four residential real estate transactions with this firm over the years and each one went as perfectly as I could have hoped. No glitches, no dropped balls -- everything smooth as silk. I would not hesitate to use them again.

June 24 · Paul Di SimoneThey are the reps for LegalShield in the Chicagoland area. I was a customer for about 22 years. Up until now, before they were bought out, I would give them a grade of B or B+; but over the past recent years, their customer service in legal service has been going downhill. I also do not appreciate their own ethical tactics and poor responsiveness to my concerns. I've been giving them deservingly very bad reviews recently regarding the help that I've been receiving. Right now, I could write a disertatation of bad experiences that I have had to deal with. Twice, they raise my rates without telling me neither by email or by letter. I called them, and they claimed that they did. Then, I find out that all of a sudden, they do not give advice for non-nor-profit organizations. Then there was one situation where I asked for advice; and for all that, I knew the way they were supposed to operate. They would give you 3 lawyers for 3 different opinions. The first one gave me a certain advice. The second one also from their local law firm gave me opposite advice, and the third third one that they contracted out said he could not give me proper advice cause he was not the correct lawyer to ask; when I complained about it, they would not give me another third lawyer. Then they started saying that there are all different kinds of memberships and special one for business which was never before. The vast majority of legal shield members get it so that they can get business advice. Also, I was basically told that I was a liar, and I have notes on this as to when and who told me these things. They gave me the runaround. And then last week they sent me an email. The first one that I ever received from them from corporate telling me that they're ceasing my membership. Also, recently, they had one of their lawyers to help me with some issue. She had me go through many, many things. I spent a lot of time in weeks of gathering information to governor for her. Finally, after a month, what she instructed me to do apparently did not work. Then she gave me advice, which basically put me back at square one. I had to hire another lawyer to get the situation resolved. Then today, I received a letter saying that "based on the circumstances in information we have, we will not be able to continue provide your legal plan benefits and service under your legalsheild membership pursuant to general provision (a alphabetic letter)." The letter told me to call them if I had any questions. Unsurprisingly, they not only refuse to tell me what this all means, but they won't even tell me their own meaning of their contract of what this general provision was (Please note that this is the first written correspondence that I ever received from LegalShield since they were bought out, and that was years ago). I've been with them about 22 years, and they dumped me like a pile of dirt out of the blue without any reason specific and no recourse. There was even a time that the traffic lawyer never showed up for court, and I had the plea guilty for traffic violation, and I received no recompense for their ineptitude. This has to be one of the most disgraceful, incompetent organizations that have ever had to deal with in my entire life. They take no responsibility for their terrible treatment of me. I do not trust them, and you should not trust them either! Remember, this can happen to you too!
