The best firm/attorney I’ve ran across so far in 5 years of going through custody. Gretchen and the staff make sure things are run professionally and efficiently by helping the attorneys. Jason Shirey has completely turned my custody into a complete blessing. Changed my children’s and my life around for the better, I couldn’t have asked for a better job. He came behind my old attorneys mess and cleaned it up and fixed it beautifully. He’s very stoic, great listener, professional, very honest, and very considerate to what his clients want, he has a great drive to achieve what needs to be done, and has a great sense of humor in a tense and or stressful situation. He’s very knowledgeable on anything I’ve asked him about so far and I would recommend him for anyone who wants a great custody attorney. I appreciate everything this firm and Jason shirey has done for me and my family, he is a God send in a hard time.

Originally hired Penny Ayres & she was great, very competent & skilled.Jason Shirley had taken over for her & became the worst choice for my custody trial I could have made. He is by far the worst attonrey I’ve ever witnessed practice. Very lazy & very unprofessional, said my daughter looked like a “chuckey” doll to opposing counsel. Showed up to trial with a 13 point small binder, every hearing was 10 steps backwards from where Penny got us.Hiring anybody or anything else would be a better choice than Jason, If I could choose less than 1 star I would. If he truly wanted to help people Get Justice he would change practices or retire. A brick wall could have represented me better. How he still has any business is beyond me.Office staff / paralegals were great

The office seems to run very smoothly. Outside of those things, Penny has truly gone above and beyond to help me to navigate this system I am unfortunately in, and has done so with empathy and understanding, holding my hand when I need it…bolstering me up when I need it, explaining every step of the process to me, respecting my right to know all of the info and be a part of every decision made. She is not only an amazingly adept attorney, but a kind and caring person as well. I am so very glad I found her.

Very poor communication skills!The paralegal did not present any of my information correctly to the attorney.The attorney never reached out to me regarding my urgent request like I was told he would.I patiently waited 1 week, with no communication from either of them.I call back to follow up after 1 week and a day, the paralegal says she was sick last week and meant to call me.The attorney did then call me later that day however, he had no idea what my need was and explained how the entire legal process works regarding my issue.I explained to him that I have already gone through ALL of those steps in the process as I told his paraegal, and he argued that he was not told any of that information.He then read to me the paralegal's documentation to cover his a#@ which stated the wrong information regarding my issue.It also stated that she called me back with the requested information. She did not call me, I called the office to follow up after no response.The attorney was rude, unprepared and did not listen to what I was saying to answer my questions appropriately.My issue is personal and not a big gain for an attorney but, it's still an issue where an attorney is needed and the quality of the work you will receive unfortunately depends on what's in it for them in the end.I would never recommend reaching out to attorney John Senft for handling any of your important life business needs.
