Pruzan Thomas Introduce
Navigating the complex and often emotionally charged world of real estate and landlord-tenant law in New York can be a daunting experience. For property owners and tenants alike, legal disputes can be financially draining and incredibly stressful. When a situation arises that requires legal intervention, having an attorney who is not only an expert in the field but also direct and effective is paramount. In Brooklyn, Thomas Pruzan has built a reputation for being just that kind of legal professional. His practice, with a focus on real estate, estate law, and particularly landlord-tenant specialty, is dedicated to providing clear, honest, and results-oriented representation to clients throughout the New York area.
Tom Pruzan understands that landlord-tenant cases, in particular, can be highly personal and fraught with tension. A review from a client who had been struggling for 16 months without rent highlights this reality, noting how emotionally draining such cases can be. In this challenging environment, Pruzan's approach is to provide realistic and candid advice, rather than telling clients what they simply want to hear. This honesty is a core part of his professional philosophy, as it allows clients to make informed decisions and manage their expectations throughout the legal process. The same review praises his candor and credits him with successfully salvaging a messy case that a previous attorney had made no progress on for nearly a year.
The legal landscape in Kings County, where the firm is located, is known for its own unique set of standards and timelines. For a legal case to move forward successfully, an attorney must be well-versed in these local nuances. Pruzan's ability to achieve a signed possession order for a client within just four months—a timeline considered remarkably fast by Kings County standards—demonstrates his profound understanding of the local court system and his ability to navigate it effectively. This is a testament to his expertise and a key reason why clients place their trust in him for such critical matters.
Another client's review emphasizes Pruzan's ability to mediate a case successfully, highlighting his skill in guiding clients through what can be a daunting process. The review notes that he made sure the client "understood what to expect every step of the way," which is a crucial aspect of reducing the anxiety associated with legal proceedings. This commitment to client education and communication is a hallmark of his practice and a significant factor in his clients' positive experiences.

Choosing an attorney is a critical decision, and in a city like New York, the options can seem endless. So, why is Pruzan Thomas a particularly strong choice for your legal needs? The provided client reviews offer a compelling answer that goes beyond just the legal services offered.
First and foremost, the reviews highlight a level of candor and directness that is invaluable in legal representation. When a client's prior attorney made "absolutely zero progress" over 11 months and the new attorney prepares them for the possibility of starting over, it speaks to an honest and transparent approach. The fact that he was able to "somehow salvage" the case and secure a possession order in a remarkably short four months is a testament to not only his skill but also his integrity. He didn't promise an easy victory; he delivered a difficult one. This kind of integrity builds a deep level of trust and confidence, which is essential when your home or property is on the line.
Secondly, his specialization is a major advantage. Landlord-tenant law is not a simple field; it is filled with specific regulations, procedural requirements, and local court standards that a generalist attorney might miss. The fact that he is known for this specialty, and for getting results that are "fast by Kings County standards," means he is not just practicing in this area—he is an expert at navigating its unique challenges. This expertise is a significant benefit for both landlords and tenants who need an attorney who truly understands the ins and outs of their specific situation.
Finally, the combination of his legal acumen and personal approach is a powerful one. Legal cases, especially those involving property or family estates, are often emotionally taxing. The reviews mention how Thomas Pruzan made sure his client "understood what to expect every step of the way" and successfully mediated a case, ultimately providing peace of mind. This client-focused communication makes a difficult process more manageable and humane. In a legal system that can feel impersonal and confusing, an attorney who is both a skilled advocate and a clear communicator is worth their weight in gold. For New Yorkers facing real estate or landlord-tenant issues, Pruzan Thomas offers a rare and highly effective combination of honesty, expertise, and personalized service.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1We had a really positive experience with Tom and his team, especially, Hazel. Our previous attorney made absolutely zero progress on our case in 11 months and the paperwork was a mess, so much so that Tom prepared us that our case would be thrown out and we’d have to start over and we’d be looking at another 12 months to get our horrendous tenant out. Tom was able to somehow salvage the case and we had a signed possession order within 4 months of Tom taking over which is considered fast by Kings County standards. These cases are emotionally-charged and draining, especially when you’re a LL and you haven’t been paid rent in months, in our case 16 months. You’re also at the mercy of the judge you end up with and ours was terrible and sided with our tenant literally every single time. Tom will tell you the truth, not what you want to hear and I appreciated his candor. If the need were to arise again we would retain Tom for L&T court but hopefully that won’t be the case.

June 21 · Marc RoutgauzerYou have a squatter ( your tenant) , now you have two , Tom Pruzan( your attorney .After hiring him , you will hate him more than your tenant who is not paying rent .His conversation starts by bragging about 40 years of experience, and his business he inherited from father and grand father( he shamedthem ).I hired him without googling him because I was given his number by my accountant ( off course he doesn’t know his work, he thought he does good until I showed him Tom’s reviews ) .I paid $1000 , after almost two months , he sent my tenants a letter of 2 months notice( he could have done it the next day I paid him) .see attached photo about his website, all you can access is home page .If you are thinking bling to hire him after ridding this , then you deserve to be scammed by him.I gave one star because the sight won’t let me give 0.Good luck with your case .
July 10 · Djamal saouThis Attorney has been my saving grace on so many occasions when it deals with tenant landlord issues. I am so glad that I found Thomas Pruzan because he really cares about his clients. He is always transparent and makes sure he does everything within the law to ensure the outcomes is in your favor. This is because of the level of care and concerns he shows each client. You wont regert hiring this Attorney.
October 05 · Marilyn SanchezLANDLORDS BEWARE!!!If I can give him a zero, I would. This man lead us to believe that we would be rid of a deranged tenant who stop paying rent and did not follow through. Tenant got away with 18 month of free board. Granted, covid messed up everything in NYC, but,to have a judge render the verdict and he does NOT tell us and the tenant gets away with NOT pay rent. Thanks for nothing Sir.
