What is worth choosing
Choosing a criminal defense lawyer is one of the most important decisions an individual can make when facing legal challenges. For residents in the California region, especially in Orange County, Paul S. Meyer, APC, offers a practice built on a deep foundation of legal experience. The firm's focus on criminal defense, particularly in complex federal and trial matters, signifies a level of specialization that is often crucial for achieving a favorable outcome. A seasoned criminal defense attorney who understands the nuances of both state and federal law, as well as the local judicial system, can provide a significant advantage. While public reviews may reflect a variety of personal experiences, it is important to consider the nature of criminal defense itself, which can be a highly contentious and emotionally charged area of law. A lawyer’s job is to be a fierce advocate, and this role can sometimes be perceived differently depending on the individual's perspective. The positive review from a fellow legal professional highlights the importance of the firm’s work in upholding constitutional principles, which is a key pillar of our justice system. For clients, this means having a lawyer who is not afraid to challenge the prosecution and fight for a client's rights. The firm's commitment to accessibility, including wheelchair-friendly facilities, shows a dedication to client convenience and comfort. The practice of requiring appointments ensures that when you meet with the legal team, you receive their undivided attention. When making your choice, it is always recommended to engage in your own due diligence, clearly communicate your needs, and seek a professional who you feel confident will represent your best interests throughout a difficult legal journey.

Paul S. Meyer, APC Reviews
I spoke with Paul Meyer twice about potential legal representation. My experience was extremely negative. He was short, impatient, and used profanity during one of the calls. I felt completely dismissed and disrespected, especially as someone living with a mental health disability. That’s how I experienced it—others may feel differently.I later discovered I’m not the only one. There’s a 1-star review of him on Avvo that echoes similar issues—out of an otherwise limited number of reviews. While Paul appears to have no public disciplinary actions or lawsuits against him, that doesn’t mean every client experience has been positive. In my personal opinion, I would not recommend Paul Meyer to anyone, especially those in vulnerable positions. I’ve chosen not to have any further contact and suggest others approach with caution. If anyone else has had similar experiences, I’d be interested in hearing them.
August 03 · Adam RegiabaOver the last 10 years, I have seen Mr. Meyer defend some unsavory characters, but this is what makes our country strong. Unlike Iran and Russia where defendants are presumed guilty until proven innocent, we live in the land of the free because of our Constitution and the work Mr. Meyer does to defend that.
August 03 · Peter ShikliAmongst OC's Top 3 Defense Attorneys. A Very Effective Orator. Methodical and a Critical Thinker. "Keeps colleagues on their feet". Confident. Understated. Approachable as well. Mr. Meyer is a leader and certainly amongst the most distinguished Attorneys currently practicing in Orange County, California .Armed with confidence beyond that of any Judge, Mr. Meyer humbly helps clients, often regardless of their economic status. However, those with unlimited resources know whose door to knock on at the 14th Hour.As a colleague who has stood by him in Court for the past few years, let me be clear that this review is unsolicited. At the end of the day we ALL want our "google" to remain honest and to remain reliable. Our information and decision making, particularly in the context of our personal freedom, is serious enough to take this small action in kind. Paul deserves the recognition unabashedly.(As to the review below)... I suppose if a human being commits a heinous crime, causing a real tragedy... in America they are nevertheless afforded a Constitutional Right to an Intelligent Defense. Helping someone who committed a crime can have the appearance of friendship, or prosperity, however I assure you there is NO behavior ratification here, NO, this is strictly professional. If you happen to disagree with the notion that a wealthy creton should be afforded such a right, please take it up with the founding fathers, otherwise, libeling Mr. Meyer publicly gives you the appearance of neither strength nor wisdom, rather... it just cheapens my "google" by spreading misinformation. If my freedom was in jeopardy and a victim or their relatives insisted on embellishing facts or damages-- in excess of what was called for-- out of anger, resentment and grief, of course, I too would pay top dollar to make sure that I was not going to be punished more severely than what was called for.I don't think any less of a defense attorney because of their client's crimes, that pain is certainly understandable, however your connection between the two is irrational or, okay, it is unconstitutional... (same thing in my book.)Finally, if Mr. Meyer charged this particular client less would that make him more honorable...not really. It is a backbone to the fundamental policies of our forefathers, and frankly fulfilling the societal role of executor of the laws, in Court anyway, well, that presents it's own troubling ethical decisions, fortunately for me, questioning that document was never really that hard. best of luck.-Mark Atias
October 27 · OrenIn 2008 he saved my rear end for a 1 punch bar incident at Skosh Monahans. He was awesome. He's a very highly sought after Attorney. The best in Orange County. Obviously he can't be on the phone all day. He responded to every email I sent too him
July 30 · Slviper VenomPaul Meyer is a defense lawyer who protects sexual predators. He will be defending the recall of Judge M. Marc Kelly who gave the man who anally raped a 3 year old girl in Orange County a reduction from the mandatory 25 years to life sentence to only 10 years.
