I strongly advise against hiring Andrew Muchmore of Muchmore & Associates for legal representation. Entrusting my case to Mr. Muchmore caused me extensive financial harm, undermined my legal standing, and ultimately forced me to terminate his representation in order to protect my own interests.At the initial consultation, I made clear the specific outcome I needed to achieve, and we agreed on a simple, straightforward legal strategy - and a clear budget - to get there. Based on that agreement, I signed a retainer. Unfortunately, problems began almost immediately.Mr Muchmore then reached out to opposing counsel and - in an unprofessional, overly familiar manner - casually disclosed our strategy and made damaging admissions, including telling them, “we’re not going to dispose,”. This unnecessary disclosure caused a major loss of leverage. Worse, he agreed with opposing counsel on critical legal points without consulting me - including agreeing with the opposing counsel that my two business partners, who were attempting to freeze myself and our investors out, “likely” had the authority to terminate me, despite knowing I had a pending appeal directly challenging that claim. This directly contradicted my legal position and likely severely weakened my standing in the case.I was shocked. The attorney I had hired to protect my interests was openly undermining my case. I had to directly confront him and demand that he stop disclosing our strategy to opposing counsel - something that should never happen with competent representation.Mr. Muchmore also made unauthorized changes to key settlement terms. I provided a written settlement proposal I was willing to accept, but without any discussion or approval, he altered the terms and forwarded his version to opposing counsel - changes that I would not have agreed to and potentially jeopardized my legal standing.He also failed to incorporate the critical interrogatories into the litigation strategy, despite multiple reminders that this was the initial plan and I fully expected them to be included. These interrogatories were crucial to refuting the opposing party’s false claims, and his neglect weakened my ability to properly challenge their narrative.Throughout the engagement, Mr. Muchmore repeatedly ignored my explicit instructions and instead pushed for the fastest, easiest resolution possible, regardless of whether it served my interests, even after I repeatedly protested that his abandonment of our agreed upon strategy would not achieve the desired outcome.Worse still, he continued billing me for work I had specifically instructed him not to perform. Meanwhile, he was extremely reluctant to confirm anything in writing, instead pushing to discuss matters only by phone - making it difficult to document the mishandling of my case or hold him accountable.When I brought up all of these concerns in detail, Mr. Muchmore refused to address any of them. Instead, he offered to zero out the remaining balance if I agreed to terminate his representation - which I did, as I had no confidence left in his ability or willingness to advocate for me. I ultimately had no choice but to terminate his representation to prevent a quick, careless settlement that would have ignored our agreed objectives - and left me with a severely unfavorable outcome.In the end, he exhausted all of my budgeted funds (and more), failed to achieve any of the objectives laid out at the outset, and left my legal position weaker than when I hired him.If you are looking for an attorney who will listen to you, advocate for your interests, and execute your legal strategy as agreed, I strongly caution you against hiring Andrew Muchmore.If you still decide to hire this attorney, I highly recommend that you document everything in writing. Get written confirmation of all agreements and instructions, and immediately follow up any phone call, meeting, or video conference with a detailed email summarizing what was discussed. Without a clear written record, you will have little protection if issues arise.
