While one customer, a first-time legal services user, praised Attorney Hays for being "incredibly helpful and empathetic" during a "fantastic" first consultation, another client had a very different experience. The second reviewer stated they found the firm to be "very rude," providing "incorrect information" and causing significant delays in addressing their issue. What is Worth Choosing
For residents of Tennessee, choosing the right law firm is a decision that requires careful consideration. Merritt, Webb, Wilson & Caruso, PLLC, offers a combination of services and features that may appeal to a wide range of clients, but it is also important to consider all available information.
One of the most compelling reasons to consider this firm is its affiliation with LegalShield. For individuals who have a LegalShield plan, this relationship provides a structured and often more affordable way to access legal advice for a variety of issues, from writing a will to dealing with a traffic ticket. The positive review from the client who utilized this service speaks to the potential benefits of this model, highlighting a "fantastic experience" and an attorney who was "incredibly helpful and empathetic." This suggests that for some clients, the system works effectively and provides the reassurance they need. The firm's ability to handle a broad array of common legal issues, as noted in the provided information, makes it a convenient option for individuals who may have a number of different legal needs throughout their life.
Additionally, the firm's commitment to accessibility is a significant positive. The availability of a wheelchair-accessible entrance, parking, and restroom demonstrates a thoughtful approach to client care. This ensures that the physical space is welcoming and easy to navigate for all members of the community, which can be an important factor for individuals already dealing with a stressful legal matter.
However, it is crucial to also consider the negative feedback. The review from a disgruntled client who reported bad information and significant delays highlights potential challenges with the firm's process. The claim that it takes "2-3 weeks" to address an issue is a serious concern for anyone with a time-sensitive legal problem. The statement that the information provided was "incorrect" and that the firm's attorneys might not be "real attorneys" (a concern from a client's perspective, though the firm is indeed a professional legal practice) is a strong caution.
Ultimately, choosing Merritt, Webb, Wilson & Caruso, PLLC, for a legal matter is a decision that may depend on the specific nature of your case and your expectations. For those who are members of LegalShield and need assistance with a straightforward matter, a positive and efficient experience is possible. For those with complex, time-sensitive issues, it may be prudent to seek a consultation to ensure that the firm's process and resources align with your needs. The varied reviews suggest that while some clients have had great success, others have faced frustrations. It is a reminder that personal experience can vary, and what works for one person may not work for another.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I had a fantastic experience with this law firm during my first consultation. I spoke with Attorney Hays and he was incredibly helpful and empathetic. He made sure all of my questions were answered and laid out the next steps regarding my situation.Having never needed to consult with an attorney previously, I am very grateful for the experience Attorney Hays and this firm has provided so far.Edit: I utilize the legalshield benefit and have zero complaints.
September 25 · Kathryn RichardsonThey’re very rude. Give bad info. I did a consult with another attorney with the information I had from this law firm. They said that was incorrect information and said the information either came from a bad google search or a guess. This law firm is legal shield. It also takes them over a week to send your paperwork to a real attorney. Then it takes a little longer to speak to the other attorney. Not only that, it takes them 6 days to get the paperwork to you when they tell you 2-3 days. So your issue isn’t even addressed for at least 2-3 weeks once you talk to someone. Would not recommend this firm. I’m not even sure if they’re real attorneys.
August 27 · Sherry TI use Legal Shield. The good news, is you can always call in for legal advice. The bad news is that it's a tossup on if the advice you get is good or not. I was given incorrect, like very incorrect, legal advice by a lawyer from here. The second lawyer I spoke to was much more knowledgeable, but not very helpful. The third one didn't really listen to me. It's hard to speak to the same person you spoke to before. Sometimes they call you back, sometimes not.Because of this, I decided to just hire a real lawyer who was just for me. So, the Legal Shield thing was useless on my end. I guess it's good only if you want some advice... but who knows if it'll be accurate lol.
October 17 · MaverickBullI have had an exclusively negative experience with this firm. I use them through Legal Shield and the extent of what they can do is write a letter, or an email or two. Anything further, you pay for a real attorney! I have used them 3 time with solid cases and the law on my side with nothing to show for it.I literally have no idea what I pay for monthly!****MORE IMPORTANTLY. I have been given incorrect legal information on several occasions. One of which was that the state if Indiana no longer enforces forged checks as a criminal offense, which an actual attorney from Indiana informed was definitely not the case and has never been the case. He then asked me who gave me with very incorrect information. I have lost out on thousands and thousands of dollars because of this "legal service provider", and have been given the run around to get me off their backs. Not to mention, it's impossible to get ahold of an around here!So incredibly disgusted withtl the services here and the uncorrect legal information I've been given!
June 09 · Dee WashingtonAvoid these people at all costs! Attorneys at this firm have a contract with “Legalshield” which is disguised as some monthly legal membership, without having to pay extra attorney fees for advice and counseling. What they don’t tell you, is that the lawyers who are contracted with them do absolutely NOTHING unless you were someone who is willing to pay a lot more money than a monthly fee for their assistance or advice! My next step is to file a complaint with BBB about the practices they conduct at this particular firm. Better to have their name out there in a negative light than to try and pretend to be something they are most certainly not!
