★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Our family has been working with Marsha Goodman and her team for a year now. Their support, knowledge, and counsel, have made a huge difference for us as we have navigated through the legalities of caring for our father's best interests. They listen, work well together, express compassion, and explain the legalities with clarity so it is easy to understand if you are not a lawyer. We are renewing our contract for another year. I highly recommend Marsha and her team. Their knowledge and support empower clients to make the best possible decisions for elder concerns.
June 26 · Pam UrbanMarsha is an attorney you can trust. A few years ago, my family and I started working with Marsha. My mom wanted to get her estate in order, especially since she needed to set up a Trust. Marsha took care of everything. She met with us to explain in detail what we needed to do. At the meeting, she was patient and caring. She was even cool with telephone conferencing in my sister who lives in another state. She gave her recommendations and let my mom decide what was best for her. She gave us time to make decisions and write down notes. After the meeting, she followed through! First came my mom's Will, power of attorney, Living Will, etc; then, she set up the disabled Trust for my brother. I cannot remember all the legal documents she did for us, but she got everything, and I mean everything, in order before my mom passed away 3 months after our 1st meeting with Marsha.Marsha knows her stuff. She knows what you need and doesn't give you stuff you don't. Every document Marsha made for my mom was pertinent and legally useful. After my mom's death, Marsha continued to work with us on the probate of the estate. She has an amazing paralegal, Berny, who has worked closely with my sister, the executor for the estate. Berny has been there for us every step of the way with the probate, and my sister says that she couldn't have done it without Marsha and Berny. They have even been patient with other sister, who thinks of herself as a novice lawyer *sigh*. We are about to close the probate on the estate and we know we've followed all the legal mumbo-jumbo properly because of Marsha's guidance. Also, we hired Marsha to set up a Guardianship for my disabled brother (He's the one my mom set up a Trust for). She walked us through the process and explained that my sister and I could be co-guardians. She represented my brother officially through the process, but she still helped my sister and I file all the necessary paperwork with the courthouse. She even went to my brother's house in North Phx to meet with him because he is agoraphopic! Even when it did not financially benefit her, she gave us the name of the statute that would expedite transfer of the Guardianship to another State.Marsha and Berny have always been polite, caring, and available. They follow through on what they say they will do. You don't have to remind them; in fact, they will remind you if and when you need to file papers with the court, etc! They are that good! They demystified the legal process. They do not overcharge or give you bills for vague services. They definitely have gone above and beyond to make sure my family had the legal services we needed and paid for. I would say the charges are completely fair, even if they seem expensive. (Marsha does require payment up front for the majority of the services.) In this case, our trust was well placed and our money well spent. My mom was content that everything was in order before her passing. It gave her comfort. You can't put a price tag on that.I have worked with several attorneys over the years and Marsha is one of the few who has it all: She's caring, knowledgeable, trustworthy, and has integrity. I would recommend her without reservation.
March 06 · Wendy LambMy mother and I feel extremely fortunate to have had attorney Marsha Goodman on our side for the past several months. We simply could not have navigated the complicated issues that come with aging on our own. These issues were financial, legal, and also invaluable guidance in finding the right care situation for my father, and even health-related advice for both. Even with questions that seem beyond a lawyer's office to advise - we are consistently steered in smart directions. Her team is both personally involved, very available and generous with their time. I have enjoyed meeting with them on all occasions, even for discussing difficult things. It's reassuring to have them in our corner. It really is 360 degrees of attention, they work hard and we have benefited from it.
January 27 · Andrea DMarsha has been my Mom’s attorney for many years, and reliably guided her through setting up for her last years. It was a much needed comfort to know she was in good hands with Marsha Goodman and her staff overseeing her estate. I highly recommend Marsha to anyone seeking an ethical and intelligent attorney.
April 26 · M GillisWe were seeking out Elder Law attorneys in 2012 when my mom had a rare neurodegenerative disease, Multiple System Atrophy. She came up with a care plan for her, discussed Medicaid spend down, did a conference call with my mom's out of state financial advisor. He was impressed with her knowledge and professionalism. She even helped us prepay for her funeral expenses and "gifting" requirements that were alotted within the Medicare guidelines. When my mom passed in 2014, the group home that she was at tried to swindle me out of money and Marsha helped me with the situation.I highly recommend Marsha, and also recommend that anyone who is looking for an elder care attorney to plan ahead before your loved one gets too sick to make decisions for themselves. I was my mom's health and financial advocate but SHE made her wishes known and Marsha was wonderful with my mom.
