Lennington Law Firm, PLLC Introduce
When the time comes to handle a sensitive and vital task like estate planning, finding a trustworthy and communicative attorney is paramount. Minnesotans seeking to create a comprehensive plan for their family’s future, manage trusts, or navigate the probate process need a professional they can rely on. Lennington Law Firm, PLLC, located in St. Paul, presents itself as a firm specializing in these very areas, with a focus on sophisticated estate planning, elder law, and tax matters. However, available public information and client reviews present a picture that raises significant concerns about the firm's client service and professional conduct. It is crucial for anyone considering this firm to be aware of all the facts to make an informed decision.
The importance of an attorney who can provide advanced legal services is clear. Lennington Law Firm, PLLC, purports to offer expertise in a wide range of complex legal areas, including advanced estate planning, wealth preservation, and business succession planning. They also list services in elder law, such as Medicaid planning, and tax planning, suggesting a comprehensive approach to securing a client's financial future. However, a pattern of alleged professional misconduct and poor communication has been documented in public records and client testimonials, casting a shadow on the firm's ability to deliver on its promises. As such, any discussion of this firm must be balanced and fact-based, providing readers with the full context of its reputation.
Lennington Law Firm, PLLC, is located at 821 Raymond Ave #315, St Paul, MN 55114, USA. This location is in the heart of St. Paul, making it physically accessible for many residents of the Twin Cities metro area. The firm's physical office is equipped with a wheelchair-accessible entrance, a wheelchair-accessible parking lot, and a wheelchair-accessible restroom. These features demonstrate an understanding of the importance of physical accessibility, ensuring that all individuals can visit the office with ease. An additional amenity is a restroom for client comfort.
Like many legal practices, the firm recommends that clients schedule appointments in advance. This is standard practice to ensure that the attorney is available and prepared to meet with a potential client. However, a significant number of client complaints focus on the firm's alleged failure to honor this standard, with multiple reports of unreturned calls and emails, even after an initial meeting and payment. This documented lack of communication is a critical factor for any potential client to consider, as effective communication is the bedrock of any successful attorney-client relationship.

When considering a professional service, it is important to look at all available information, including both the stated mission and the public record.
Professional Misconduct Allegations: Public records from the Minnesota Supreme Court and the Office of Lawyers Professional Responsibility indicate that Peter Lennington was disbarred in 2022. The disciplinary action was based on allegations of numerous ethical violations, including a "pattern of neglect and abandonment of five client matters" and "misappropriation of client funds by taking money, doing no work, and making no refunds." This is a significant red flag for any potential client.
Client Communication Issues: Multiple client reviews from various platforms detail a consistent pattern of poor communication. One client stated that they "never heard from him again" after paying a fee and being promised contact. This is a severe breach of professional trust and a critical concern for anyone seeking legal services.
Disbarment Status: The most significant feature to highlight is the professional disbarment of Peter Lennington. This means he is no longer licensed to practice law in Minnesota. Any firm or professional associated with these records should be approached with extreme caution.
For those seeking to contact the Lennington Law Firm, PLLC, the following information is available. However, due to the serious nature of the public records, potential clients should proceed with extreme caution.

When it comes to choosing a lawyer, integrity, communication, and competence are non-negotiable. For Minnesotans, this case study serves as a crucial warning. While the firm's stated services cover important areas of law, the publicly available disciplinary records and client reviews demonstrate a pattern of professional and ethical failures. The allegations of abandoning clients, failing to communicate, and misappropriating funds are severe and should not be overlooked. The fact that the attorney has been disbarred from practicing law in Minnesota is the most important piece of information for any potential client. Therefore, based on the public record, this firm is not one to choose for legal services. Lennington Law Firm, PLLC Reviews
I'd give Peter Lennington a zero if I could. There's another 1 star post here and it's our exact experience. Was recommended to Pete from a friend that had used him for their estate planning. Had a great meeting, left after giving him a check for $1,200 with him promising to be in touch about next steps/what we needed to do. Never heard from him again. Called and left messages for him as well as with his assistant. He's a crook Do not use him.
April 25 · Colleen SchroederThought we had a good lawyer. We chose Peter because both my parents and my aunt and uncle chose Peter for their estate planning. With both them claiming to have a good experiences, we reached out to Peter for our planning needs.Needless to say our experience was not that great. We reached out to his business, talked with someone at the office that ensured us we would get a call back. We waited weeks and never got a call. We followed up with another call and left a voicemail but still no response for weeks. Finally we get a call back from Peter who did apologize for the delay and gave a very reasonable excuse. From there, Peter was happy to work with us. Answered many questions, willing to call with us late at night when my wife and I were both available. Gave us his personal cell phone number. We were ready to move forward. He said that he would send us all the information we would need at the end of our calls to get the process moving forward, and then nothing. No follow up or anything. We waited a week or two and followed up. Called his office and left a voice mail and waited a week. Called his personal cellphone and left a voicemail and waited a week. Never responded.I understand if some business don't want your business but I'd rather they just tell you than not return your calls. I would think that someone who is family of two of your current customers would give you the decency to say they don't want your business. We were only looking to establish a will and guardianship with future needs for establishing a trust. Nothing incredibly out of their skill sets.Still leaves me a bit baffled.
February 24 · Aaron LoesI highly recommend Peter Lennington for estate planning. He provided a comprehensive and collaborative assessment of our needs, and then he customized a will, power of attorney, revocable living trust, and a special needs trust for our disabled adult child. He walked us through the pros and cons of our options in simple terms and examples when the concepts were unfamiliar to us. He could also switch seamlessly to more advanced technical details of tax implications and practical issues that might affect our heirs. He helped transfer assets to fund the trust and gave us straightforward how-to support for transferring assets in the future. His rate was reasonable, and his post-planning support has been terrific. We asked follow-up questions four months after we had all the documents, and he responded the same day with thorough, spot-on answers. He's pleasant and personable. We recommend him without reservation.
November 04 · Russel RogersOn January 29th, 2020 my wife and I consulted with Mr. Lennington for the purpose of drafting a living trust. After the consultation, I paid the 50% down payment of $1250 with my credit card and he said he would be sending additional information and forms for us to review and proceed. That was the last we heard from him.I tried calling several times over the next two months but he never answered or returned my calls. I also wrote him a letter and an email, also with zero response from him. Finally, I was fed up and initiated a charge back through my credit card company to get my deposit back. But it was not until April 15th that the dispute was settled in my favor. Had I paid by check, I am certain I would have had to take Mr. Lennington to small claims court. This is the first time in my life that I felt the need to hire a lawyer and I must say it has been a dismal experience. I have never in my life been subjected to such a display of unprofessionalism. How Mr. Lennington is still in business is beyond me. On the home page on his website it says “Our goal is to give you peace of mind”. His definition of peace of mind must be different than mine.Strange to see all the 5-star reviews considering how we were treated. There are other 1-star reviews in other sites, so we haven’t been the only ones treated this way.
April 17 · Jose PalmieriPeter handled my mother's estate planning, and I sat in on some of those meetings. I was so impressed with Peter and the whole process that when it came time to do my own planning, choosing a lawyer was a no-brainer. Peter is thorough, covers every possible hypothetical, and is a pleasure to work with.
