Title: This Law Office Ruined My Case — Beware of Their Unethical PracticeI’m writing this to warn others: do not trust Judith Wood’s law office with your immigration case. Their negligence and misconduct caused my case to be ruined and left me in a serious legal situation.They charged me without providing any signed contract or retainer agreement. I tried to end the representation, but they stayed on the record as my attorney — which blocked me from hiring another lawyer in time.For my second individual hearing, they secretly converted it to a WebEx remote hearing without telling me. I was completely unaware of this change. Then, at the start of the hearing, they announced in front of the judge that they were withdrawing from my case, without notifying me in advance. That left me with no legal representation and absent from the hearing, which resulted in the judge ordering my removal due to failure to appear.Now, because of this misconduct, I am dealing with severe delays in my work permit (EAD) and enormous stress and uncertainty for my family.This law office is irresponsible, uncommunicative, and reckless with people’s futures. They should not be allowed to represent vulnerable immigrants. Please avoid this firm at all costs. What they did to me was not just unprofessional — it was life-destroying.

STAY AWAY!!!!! – Gross Negligence, Zero Accountability, and Absolutely No IntegrityIf you’re considering this immigration attorney or her office—stop now. I am writing this after enduring one of the most painful, emotionally and financially devastating experiences of my life due to their complete mishandling of my case.I hired this office to handle my marriage-based green card filing—a process that should have been straightforward. Instead, they:Got my I-130 petition denied due to negligent filing and complete lack of diligence.Failed to file an appeal on time, despite promising they would—this permanently closed the door on that case.Never filed my work permit renewal, causing me to lose my legal ability to work and devastating our household income.Never—not once—apologized for these major failures, delays, and consequences.When we called their office for clarification after these repeated breakdowns, Amelia, the paralegal, began SCREAMING at the top of her lungs and hung up on us.Stunned, we called back immediately—she refused to get back on the phone and passed us off to a completely different attorney. I brought this unprofessional and hostile behavior to the attention of the lead attorney directly.To this day, no apology, no accountability, no effort to make it right. Instead, they will just hang up on you after you pay them thousands of dollars if you ask for what’s going on with your case.I’ve asked multiple times for proof that they filed the documents they claimed to have submitted—each time I was told, “We’ll find it and call you back.”Months went by. No calls. No proof.Why? Because they never filed the paperwork in the first place.Finally, after close to 9 months of constant phone calls and follow ups, Judy very RUDELY called and said, “Yeah, it was a clerical error. They did nothing but create pain, delays, and permanent damage to my immigration timeline.Only gave them a 1 star because I had to. Otherwise it would be a negative rating for me.UPDATE: July 2025—As of now, this office has DEVASTATED my ability to fix my immigration case. Because of their negligence in appropriate filing with both TIMING and just plain NOT FILING the appropriate forms I requested, my EAD is deemed “unrenewable” because THIS OFFICE failed to renew it, even AFTER taking THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS from me upfront claiming it’s for filing fees. It is important to note that when the denial for my 130 came in, I called the office immediately and instructed them to file the appeal. I followed up on this appeal drafted the appeal myself signed it. Sent it to them. Got the documents together that were requested and priority mail sent it to them. Even after doing all this, I still called the office and spoke with AMELIA a whopping THREE TIMES to keep asking her that is she sure that she sent the appeal in in time because the paperwork says that after 30 days it would not be possible. Amelia repeatedly assured me on three separate occasions that it was filed — but it clearly wasn’t. I was misled each time, and no one from the office corrected the record. Which is so concering to me.It’s really hard navigating your way with immigration practices in LA. Be mindful and aware of who you’re chosing to advocate for you or your loved one.
