★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1When faced with divorce, I reached out to Attorney Gislason, as she has represented my family in the past, and by account of everyone that has interacted with her, my family agreed that she was the best option to represent me moving forward.I'm incredibly glad I listened to them. When I had my consultation with Barbara, she informed me of the immediate implications of my situation, and guided me with what next steps to take, which I believe her quick action stopped a bad situation from getting worse.Because of Barbara, I went from a situation where my children were being kept from me, to now getting the time I need with them. She does not play games with the opposition, and is willing to fight for you on every stance. She has a strong background in law that she is able to leverage, and has a great intuition on opposing lawyers.I think the best part about having Barbara on my team is that she hasn't been afraid to tell me the truth of the situation, even if it's something I will be uncomfortable with. With that in mind, when she says something went well, you know for a fact that it is going well, and you can rely on her thoughts of your case.If you need someone to represent you, who is thorough, sharp, caring, and experienced with a no BS attitude, Attorney Gislason is the way to go.
August 30 · Justin and the BoysWhen completing an arts memoir in 2010 ~ I and my co-authors consulted Attorney Barbara J. Gislason regards the use of some dance portraits which were older and rare as well as sole property of my dance mentor, a German Expressionist. Attorney Gislason not only knew about arts and photography but she helped us not make any crucial errors in understanding our own rights or responsibilities. She was patient, kind and very sensitive to our needs and a good teacher too. We always will remember her carefulness extended to us. In future if I need family consults or further business needs in the fine arts, Attorney Barbara will always be the very first person I will approach. If she cannot assist. I would always trust her referrals and her advising how to proceed with my own research. Her areas of expertise continue deeper and wider over the years. Thank you again Attorney Gislason for your kindnesses.
February 19 · lindalee soderstromA few years back a book contract was headed in my direction., which meant I needed legal counsel. I asked a friend, a novelist of considerable renown, for a recommendation, and she suggested Barbara Gislason. I later mentioned Barbara's name to a neighbor, a partner in a downtown law firm who had recently retired, and he recommended her, too, saying she's especially good in the area of intellectual property. So I made an appointment and drove out to Barbara's office. We chatted about the book - a biography of an important conductor - and what I hoped to accomplish, and within a short space of time she put the deal together. The publisher and I weren't exactly seeing eye-to-eye. He was a devout Lutheran, and at meetings with him I often quoted - quite aptly - Danny Thomas, who once said, "I never met a funny Lutheran." Barbara said the initial contract he had offered was the worst contract she had ever read. She prevailed,.however, and through artful diplomacy she got from the publisher all the needed changes in the contract, and the book, a handsome volume, was eventually published. It is perhaps not a great book, but it is a good one, and it has won several awards, and without Barbara's help it wouldn't have been published at all. And now she's guiding me through the narrow passages of another book project, which I anticipate will go well. Barbara's a real pro. She's smart, knowledgeable and easy to work with. And she really listens to people. She has, of course, expertise in fields other than intellectual property, but in this one she excels. I'd give her five stars any day.
April 10 · Michael AnthonyAs a reputable show dog breeder, I came to Barbara Gislason several years ago, for assistance and guidance with my pet and show contracts. She worked with me to draft a better and enforceable contract. Barbara is extremely knowledgeable and professional and she is a true animal lover!I would recommend Barbara for any of your animal law needs. I will certainly come to her again if needed.
February 23 · Arlene EI first met Barbara J. Gislason over 15 years ago. She was referred to me because I needed representation for intellectual property involving educational curricula that I had written. She was my attorney through the process of drawing up a licensing agreement and through the negotiation of the license. She represented me professionally and we ended up with a contract that was favorable to both parties.I found her to be timely in her responses to me and professional through the entire process. I was satisfied with her handling of the contract and related issues. She represented me well. She knows the law and the process for writing a favorable and agreeable license agreement.
