March 21 · Jon GrimesKelly Ann Booth offers free consultations at least on Avvo and Justia. Then she didn't give that. For what it is worth, I can't even know to hire if I cannot get answers to my questions -- that's why free consultations are needed. She also said "let me know if you would like a referral." I said I "welcome the recommendation (she) offered." And then said didn't send one.*To respond to Kelly's response*, Kelly continues to show dishonesty and thus live up her reputation in reviews that say she is unethical after a judge suspended her law license, including, but not limited to, "misconduct," as the review says.I actually *called* her for legal advice. That Kelly said "I offer free consultations for people who are interested in hiring me to represent them in a legal matter" is amazing in of itself because she apparently does not even see the problem with saying that she offers free consultations. (When lawyers advertise them, that's all it says, period. No caveats, as there should not be given even that folks like myself can't even know if they can be represented.)Actually, as Kelly texted, Kelly didn't take the take because she is "not taking any cases in Utah County right now." The conviction was for an infraction, which is so trivial that not even employment background checks have them, and I already told her "I just barely earned that it was unenforceable as it was the only charge. So I want to appeal it but the 28 days to do so has passed. However, I want to see if there is any possibility of appealing or getting a new trial, etc.She also makes a case of me being "rude" without basis, which makes sense since I have no idea where she is coming from with that claim. In the same response where she said that she learned it is a post-conviction case, which means she would have had to pull up a system that would have given her details in the case, she also claims that she needed "far more details to provide a proper analysis." Of course, she also already said why she didn't take the case and it had nothing to do with needing "far more details to provide a proper analysis."Kelly had texted me at 9:10 PM, assuming that the time of a text is of import, and for what it is worth, I think I texted her shortly after she responded. What everyone should expect is for a free consultation to be given when lawyers are claiming to give free consultations. I reviewed Kelly only on a few sites specifically for reviews. And to think that I didn't bring up her law licensed having been suspended in the review, and I could have given her a one-star review, but I was fair.
