Harold J. Poltrock, Attorney at Law Introduce
In the intricate world of real estate and business law, having an experienced and knowledgeable attorney is not just a benefit—it's a necessity. For residents and business owners in Elizabeth, New Jersey, and the surrounding areas, navigating complex legal matters requires a professional with a deep understanding of both the law and the practical realities of a transaction or dispute. Harold J. Poltrock, Attorney at Law, offers dedicated legal services focused on real estate, business, and estate-related issues.
The firm's practice is built on a foundation of extensive experience. Harold J. Poltrock has been actively engaged in the practice of law for over 40 years, specializing in real estate and business-related transactions. This long-standing commitment to his field provides a level of expertise that is invaluable to clients. His experience is not limited to legal practice alone; he has also served as a member of the New Jersey Real Estate Commission, which gives him a unique and broad perspective on real estate matters. This combination of legal knowledge and real-world regulatory experience is a proven advantage for his clients.
The firm handles a variety of legal issues that can impact both individuals and businesses. From a straightforward residential real estate transaction to a complex business litigation case, the practice is equipped to provide thoughtful and strategic representation. In any legal matter, a professional who can not only advise on the law but also anticipate potential problems and help you navigate them is a significant asset. Harold J. Poltrock's focus on proactive and comprehensive counsel is designed to do just that.
However, it is important for potential clients to be aware of the full spectrum of public information, including both practice areas and client experiences. One detailed review points to a negative experience involving a condominium association and a fire, where the client felt the attorney, who had previously been involved, did not provide the necessary assistance to resolve a subsequent financial dispute. The client felt the attorney "backed away, probably to protect himself, leaving completely innocent unit owners on their own." This review highlights the importance of understanding the scope of a lawyer's representation and the potential for complex, multi-party disputes to unfold. This kind of feedback underscores the importance of clear communication and defined legal roles at every stage of a case.

Choosing a lawyer requires a careful evaluation of their professional background, practice areas, and, crucially, client feedback. The public information on Harold J. Poltrock, Attorney at Law, presents a nuanced picture. On one hand, his extensive experience and focus on specialized areas like real estate and business law are compelling reasons to consider his services. His service on the New Jersey Real Estate Commission provides a rare and valuable perspective that few attorneys can offer. For a standard residential real estate transaction or business formation, this level of expertise can be a major advantage.
On the other hand, the detailed negative review raises important questions about the scope of representation and client communication in complex situations. The client's account of feeling abandoned during a significant dispute highlights the importance of clear terms of service and the need for clients to be fully informed and empowered at every stage of a case. This review should serve as a cautionary note for potential clients to have a thorough discussion about what to expect, especially in multi-party or evolving disputes.
For clients in New Jersey who need legal counsel for a residential real estate transaction, a business dispute, or a simple contract review, Harold J. Poltrock's extensive experience and specialization are strong assets. His office’s commitment to physical accessibility is also a positive sign of a client-friendly practice. However, for those with complex, ongoing disputes, it would be wise to have a detailed conversation about the firm's role and the communication protocol to ensure a positive and productive partnership. The choice, as always, depends on the specific legal need and the client's preference for communication and partnership in their legal journey.

Harold J. Poltrock, Attorney at Law Reviews
I live in a condominium Community Access Unlimited ("CAU") manages. In 2019, we had a fire that destroyed 2/3 of the property. Shortly after the fire, CAU higher ups, including Sidney Blanchard, met with the unit owners to discuss how we would rebuild after the fire and Poltrock was there as counsel. They suggested a contractor they'd used the year prior when they had a serious fire in another property. They did not suggest any other contractors and we as unit owner did not feel empowered to vet other options to take on such a large job nor were we given much time to try to.Fast forward to 2021, the contractors walked off the job then sent the HOA, consisting of unit owners who had no real say in their hiring, a demand letter for over $250k claiming that they were never paid an agreed to increase. Poltrock did not even attempt to help us get to the bottom of this issue even though he was involved directly in communications with the contractors around the time they requested this increase. The HOA found our own counsel who realized that the increase was granted and paid out by our insurance, leading us to believe there might be some insurance fraud happening behind the scenes with the contractor, CAU, and other parties who were aware of these communications while we as unit owners were in the dark.It would have saved us a world of trouble if Poltrock helped us realize this sooner since he was the attorney involved at the time the contractor was hired and at the time they requested the increase from our insurance. Instead he simply backed away, probably to protect himself, leaving completely innocent unit owners on their own to dispute this demand by the contractor.
