Would not recommend this law firm. Hired Monica last August, she tells me my ex has no case and confident the judge will dismiss the case. Come February, Monica has to go out on FMLA, Caitlyn takes over my case and has a completely different opinion of my case. At this point, I’m less than 2 weeks away from mediation and don’t feel there is time for a new attorney. I express concern with Caitlyn about her different view. She tells me I can get a new attorney (which I totally regret not doing). By this time, I’ve already sunk so much money into this firm. Another firm wanted $7500 retainer. I’m a single mother of 2 and don’t have that kind of money. Mediation went awful. I felted pressured by my own attorney. I ended up stopping mediation because of it. We had a hearing 2 weeks later with the judge. I told Caitlyn I was having surgery in June. The judge sets the trial date for June, just after my surgery. I would be in no shape to go to. Caitlyn doesn’t say anything to the judge about it. She communicated with my ex’s attorney without my knowledge and sent her information without having me review it first. To top it all off, after we settled and the papers were sent to the judge, this law firm didn’t even notify me that the judge signed the papers and returned them. I found out about a week later from my ex. Very unprofessional law firm. Would not recommend.

If you r reading this, you likely are considering a first time divorce. I'm sorry. ...wish you the best because the process is horrendous. Good family lawyers are focused on 'family' outcomes, which means they do everything she can to keep hostilities (and legal fees) to a minimum because they know thats best for their client in the long run, especially when children are involved. Bad family lawyers, either by their own confusion, lack of competency or general disorganization actually CREATE conflict by engaging in aggressive tactics and stalling resolution (all of which add up to more legal fees for themselves). It might seem like you have a tough lawyer on yorur side and that might feel good for a while, but the hangover is brutal. Based on my own experience and the advice of every single professional I later consulted with when I decided to change lawyers, Hanrahan Freitag Family Law seems to operate in a manner than is NOT consistent with good family law practice. I'm sure you realize that most online reviews are worthless because it's either 5 star love or 1-star hate, I usually don't even post reviews, but based on my own misfortune, Im just hoping I can save others from the same but for the sake of yourself and your family, please call another lawyer...and then ask for an opinion about Hanrahan Freitag. Professionals will not blatently speak ill of their peers, but I got the impression from EVERY SINGLE other lawyer I spoke with that Monica simply is not respected by any of them (and surprisingly, this is a big deal because these guys are always working with the same other lawyers case after case, and even though they are "against" each other, they share a commitment to getting the entire family through a difficult process so have to work well together to make that happen without wasting time or money). It seems Monica puts on a good show up front but unfortunately lacks the ability to get good outcomes for her clients...and even if it looks like she might get you more money, are you the one who really got more money if it just flows back into her pocket in higher legal fees?
