Use for a divorce and they 'lost' extremely important emails, even though I had my emails to Prove that they I sent them and they even replied to. The were emphatic that they did not have any record of emails from anyone in their office of 15 people (you have to copy everyone in the office) Really?? Out of all those copied, no one had emails? They stated if they had to go to court again, they would have to state that they don't know where those emails came from and had no record of receiving them and could not help me, even if I paid again. This caused major issues in my final outcome and they denied it was their fault. Nope. Nope. Nope. They were recommended by a friend who knows someone who works there. On a positive note, I will say, they did have great response time on responding to emails, 7 days a week.Make sure you Re-read all of your final documents as there were several mistakes, double check and set your emails for Read Receipts. - Me

Protecting Citizens' Rights: An Overview of the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association

In the intricate world of law, certain organizations play a pivotal role not just in representing individuals, but in upholding the very principles of the justice system. The Georgia Trial Lawyers Association (GTLA) is one such entity. Based in Atlanta, the GTLA is a non-profit organization and a bar association dedicated to strengthening and preserving Georgia’s civil justice system. Their mission is clear: to protect the constitutional promise of justice for all, by guaranteeing the right to trial by jury, preserving an independent judiciary, and ensuring that all Georgians have access to the courts.

It is important to understand that the GTLA is not a traditional law firm that takes on individual clients for personal cases like a divorce, for example. Instead, it is a professional association whose members are attorneys, paralegals, and law students. The GTLA provides its members with valuable resources, including educational seminars, a document and deposition bank, and a network of over 2,000 of the state's top plaintiff's attorneys. These resources are designed to help trial lawyers better represent their clients, ensuring that citizens have a strong advocate when they need to seek justice in court. The services listed—such as Consumer Protection, Criminal Defense, and Legal Malpractice—are practice areas that the GTLA's member attorneys specialize in, not services offered directly by the organization to the general public.

This distinction is critical, especially when considering online reviews. A review provided by a user who sought the GTLA for a divorce case highlights this misunderstanding. The reviewer’s experience, while frustrating for them personally, appears to be based on a misconception of what the organization does. The GTLA's purpose is not to handle individual client cases directly but to support the attorneys who do. The review's frustration about "lost" emails and a lack of support in a specific case does not reflect the GTLA’s core function. Instead, it seems to describe an unfortunate experience with a firm or individual who may be a member of the association. The GTLA's role is to provide a platform for networking and resources for its members, not to be a direct legal counsel for the public. This nuance is essential for anyone seeking legal help in Georgia.

On a positive note, the review did mention that the organization had "great response time on responding to emails, 7 days a week," which may refer to a general inquiry or communication with the organization's staff. This indicates a commitment to prompt communication with their professional network. The GTLA works tirelessly to support its members and, in turn, helps those attorneys fight for justice for their clients. The association's dedication to this cause is evident in its continuous efforts in legislative, political, and media arenas to preserve citizens' rights.

What is Worth Choosing the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association

For an individual in Georgia seeking legal representation, it is crucial to understand that the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association is not the correct resource for hiring a lawyer for a personal case. It is an organization for lawyers, not for the general public. For an attorney or law student, however, the GTLA is an invaluable choice. Its services are designed to enhance the legal profession, providing a network and tools that empower its members. The GTLA is a hub of knowledge, a source of professional camaraderie, and a powerful voice in the state legislature, advocating for the interests of trial lawyers and the citizens they represent.

Choosing to be a part of the GTLA means becoming a member of a community dedicated to a cause larger than any single case. It means gaining access to a wealth of information and a network of experienced peers. The association's commitment to protecting the rights of all Georgians is a mission that benefits everyone in the state, even if they are not members. By supporting the attorneys who fight for justice, the GTLA ensures that the legal system remains fair and accessible. While not a law firm for the public, the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association is an essential institution that makes Georgia's legal landscape stronger and more just for all.
