Unfortunately, the only joke here is the legal representation I received.I consulted four other attorneys, and they all agreed that I should have received my bankruptcy paperwork at least a month in advance—apparently, that memo never made it past the Three Stooges running this show. Instead of guidance, education, and clear answers, I got a circus act where one staff member, playing the role of Moe, simply barked “bank statements” when I asked what I needed to provide before filing. That’s it. Nothing more.Then came another staff member—let’s call him Larry. He called out of the blue two days before the filing deadline, claiming he only needed five minutes. Well, two and a half hours later, after grilling me and my wife for our “best guesses” on legal information, we were left bewildered, exhausted, and completely unprepared.
