What is worth choosing
Choosing a lawyer, especially for something as significant as a bankruptcy or debt issue, is a decision that requires careful thought. Consumer Advocates of Wisconsin, LLC, offers a compelling set of services and features that are worth considering. Their primary strength lies in their clear and focused specialization. By dedicating their practice to bankruptcy and consumer law, they are likely to possess a deep and current understanding of the complex federal and state regulations that govern these matters. This kind of focused expertise can be invaluable when you are navigating the intricate process of a Chapter 7 or Chapter 13 filing, or when you are negotiating with aggressive debt collectors. A specialized attorney can often provide more nuanced advice and a more efficient path to a resolution, which can save you both time and stress.
Another significant factor is their commitment to client accessibility and flexibility. The option for both online and on-site appointments shows a modern, client-focused approach that recognizes the diverse needs of today’s individuals. This flexibility is a major benefit, as it allows you to get legal advice in a way that is most convenient for you, whether you prefer a face-to-face meeting or a remote consultation from the comfort of your home. Furthermore, the physical accessibility of their office—with a wheelchair-accessible entrance, parking, and restroom—is a strong indicator of their commitment to serving all members of the community without barriers. This attention to detail demonstrates a thoughtful and inclusive approach to their practice, which can be a key factor in making a client feel respected and cared for.
However, it is also important to consider the client experience. Some publicly available reviews highlight a mixed experience, with some clients praising the firm's competency and integrity, while others express concerns about communication and responsiveness. The review mentioning Jonathan Mas's advice to negotiate with a debt collector on his own is a powerful testament to the firm's potential for integrity and client advocacy, showing a lawyer who prioritizes the client's best financial interest over their own. This kind of honesty is a rare and highly valued quality in the legal profession. Conversely, another review raises concerns about a lack of communication and perceived unprofessionalism. This mixed feedback suggests that while the firm may have exceptional legal knowledge, the individual attorney you work with and their personal communication style can significantly impact your experience. Therefore, it is highly recommended that you take advantage of an initial consultation to personally assess the attorney and their team. This first-hand experience will allow you to determine if their communication style, responsiveness, and overall professional attitude align with what you need and expect. A good lawyer-client relationship is built on trust and clear communication, and a preliminary meeting is the best way to start building that foundation.
In conclusion, Consumer Advocates of Wisconsin, LLC, offers a strong set of services for individuals facing financial hardship, with a clear specialization and a commitment to accessibility and flexibility. Their potential for honest and effective advice is a major plus. When considering this firm, a personal consultation is a recommended step to ensure that their professional and communication style is the right fit for your unique and important legal needs.

Consumer Advocates of Wisconsin, LLC Reviews
As an entrepreneur, you win some, and you lose some. Some losses are harder than others. I couldn’t pay my credit card debt, and I found myself being served by a debt collector for the amount I owe.I called one lawyer who adamantly suggested a chapter 11 because American Express would NOT negotiate once they served. I almost took their advice and cancelled my next consultation call. Luckily I didn’t because Jonathan Mas was my next call.He outlined why a Chapter 11 wasn’t always the best option. He suggest I just call the debt collector and negotiate. Apprehensive, I asked if I could pay him to do it for me. He said he could and would, but said it would be a waste of my money to pay him to do something I can do just fine on my own. He adamantly encouraged me to just call them myself, offer to pay about 60%, and see what they say. I was nervous, but I followed his advice. Within 35 minutes, I was done. Negotiated down to a 60% payment. I got a letter in 14 days saying they’d sent a notice to the court dismissing my case with no judgement. All from one FREE CONSULTATION.I hope I never have to speak to Jonathan again on these terms. But if I ever do need advice from someone like him, I’m going to call him. I think I just met an honest and trustworthy lawyer with exceptional competency. Thank you Jonathan, you definitely broken the mold.
September 26 · Nyssa A.G.After Jacoby & Meyers bankruptcy attorneys went bankrupt, consumer advocates received all of the case files. We were assigned to Johnathan Mas, a very wet-behind-the-ear "lawyer" who couldn't even figure out how to use his own voicemail or respond to emails. We told him NO THANKS even when his "Services" were offered to us free of charge.. obviously they weren't even worth than that based on what we saw.Obviously their reply shows how clueless they really are. I was offered by Consumer Advocates for them to take OVER my case from Jacoby for free. I declined because of their horrible nonchalant attitude towards me and my case and lack of replies to calls/emails. Since I DECLINED their free services, of course I wasn't a client of theirs, I wouldn't want to be. See what I mean by SLOW ON THE UPTAKE? Not much going on upstairs with these n00bs.
August 18 · Pepe The PatriotJonathan is friendly, professional and seems to genuinely care about his clients and their circumstances. I highly recommend talking with him about your financial situation and he can help you come up with the best solution that won't break the bank.
August 09 · John AdcockJonathan was very helpful and knowledgeable. I highly recommend Consumer Advocates of Wisconsin.
