Chaka Benjamin, Esq. Reviews
❗️If You Value Your Time and Money, Look ElsewhereI retained this attorney in July 2024 to handle my L1A petition.Unfortunately, the experience was frustrating from day one. Communication was chronically delayed — emails often went unanswered for days or even weeks, and follow-ups were ignored. After I paid the full $7,000 fee, the tone shifted noticeably. Meetings became disorganized, with constant changes in direction and no real progress.Despite full payment, I never received a single usable draft for the L1A. Due to unforeseen circumstances, I had to switch to an H-1B petition — but the same issues persisted. Progress was minimal for months. Then, with less than three weeks before the H-1B deadline, the attorney informed me that continuing would cost another $4,500. I didn’t commit right away. At our next meeting, without warning, he announced he was terminating our agreement and sent a formal letter. Only then did I receive a set of H-1B documents — which he admitted couldn’t be submitted “as-is” and needed major revisions.By that point, I had spent over a year and $7,000 — and had nothing usable to show for it.Later, I received a questionable itemized invoice totaling $10,325, charging for work on documents I never received in usable form. The only official action completed was filing two LCAs — one of which had to be redone by my new attorney.I rarely leave negative reviews, but if this saves someone from the same ordeal, it’s worth sharing.
August 16 · JChaka's service has been exemplary. He always takes time to explain everything and address all our concerns. He pushed us to pursue a different path that was more intense for both us and his team but in the end was faster (which is what we wanted). Compared to the other lawyer we dealt with and all the horror stories we have heard about from friends and family, Chaka is one person we can wholeheartedly recommend without hesitation and the lawyer we do recommend.
