★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1If you're a survivor seeking trauma-informed legal help, I urge you to think twice before retaining C.A. Goldberg. I came to this firm to get a legal review of a document I was coerced into signing, directly tied to sexual violence. This is something C.A. Goldberg publicly claims to specialize in. It’s why I trusted them. What I received instead was a disorganized, unprofessional experience that left me retraumatized and completely disillusioned.I was assigned an associate, Zaynah Choudhury, who admitted she had limited experience with cases involving sexual violence. When I asked about her qualifications, she cited experience reviewing modeling contracts, not remotely the same. Even worse, she asked [ME] to highlight and analyze the unenforceable clauses in the document for her, the very legal work I retained the firm to do. That request was not only inappropriate, it was frankly embarrassing for a firm that brands itself as trauma-informed and survivor-centered.After raising concerns, in 12 hours, I received a generic email from Carrie Goldberg stating that my needs were "outside the scope" of their services. This, after I had communicated my goals multiple times and after they accepted the 4-digit retainer. To their credit, they refunded the retainer. But by then, the damage was done. The entire experience was transactional, dismissive, and deeply out of step with the kind of support survivors deserve and this firm claims to provide.Being treated like a billable hour instead of a person seeking justice is exactly what drove me to C.A. Goldberg in the first place. And yet, that’s exactly how I was treated here.I’m now pursuing proper legal representation elsewhere — and, ironically, considering law school myself. That’s how badly this experience failed me. Survivors deserve better. This firm needs to seriously rethink how it handles the very people it claims to protect.‘From victim to warrior’ — that’s the promise on their website. But in my experience, it’s just branding. Attorneys want to be attorneys until it’s time to actually do the work.
July 09 · Angie UrenaCan confirm reviews have said. During my consultation, I shared serious concerns and mentioned that I had proof of what my abuser did to me—but I was never asked to provide any of it.I felt extremely uncomfortable during the call because I was still processing everything that had happened to me. I wanted to read from my notes to explain things clearly, but the person on the call wouldn’t let me. It felt rushed, cold, and impersonal—especially with a camera in my face.I left that meeting feeling dismissed and retraumatized. It took 4 business days just to hear back and get a refund. I expected compassion and expertise, but I didn’t feel taken seriously at all.
July 18 · Jade ElizabethAs for someone who is a victim of sexual assault. I came across this law firm hoping to be taken as a client but unfortunately this did not happen. Don’t get me wrong, the staff is very nice. However, they make it seem like you are talking to Norma for the 1 hour intake call on the website but really you are speaking to a Law Clerk named Roshelle who was also very nice. I did not appreciate the fact, they didn’t have the decency to call me to tell me the unfortunate news. I had to scroll through a bunch of emails to find an email from Norma. If you have to pay a $275 fee (only refundable if they don’t take you as a client) just for a person to get information about your legal situation when other lawyers do it for free is kind of crazy.
October 22 · Autumn BooneCarrie Goldberg is like no other attorney I have ever worked with. She listens without judgement and makes very clear how she can help you. When working with Ms. Goldberg, she feels like an entire team standing behind you, an immovable force. She is fearless, confident and reassuring. Ms. Goldberg's persistence and professionalism got me the results I wanted during a very difficult situation. She came to me very highly recommended and I am blown away at how relentless she is for her clients.
March 13 · Allison TrayCarrie rocks. She is the best. There isn't enough room here to describe how she changed my life so I'll just say if you're looking for an attorney, look no further. Also thanks to Aurore who worked on my case. Incredible advocacy and negotiation in a really tough case.
